Word Games

Complete the poem by thinking of the one word whose letters, when rearranged, will yield the appropriate word for each series of blanks. Each dash corresponds to a letter of the word.

_ _ _ _ apart, secure through custom's power,

The manor lord stood gazing from his tower

At serfs' poor _ _ _ _ , then meditatively

Mused, "_ _ _ _ it's been and evermore shall be."

Answer to October 3, 2011 puzzle:

Her gaze was rapt as he secured their gear.
The tarp would keep it dry. Now he drew near.
Was her part destined, cued by raindrops' fall,
The tent a trap for romance after all?

I'll be back next Monday. Meanwhile, enjoy.

  1. Hi Norm,
These are fun. I copy and paste them to a sticky note on my desktop until I figure them out. Thanks for the challenge.
