Complete the poem by thinking of the one word whose letters, when rearranged, will yield the appropriate word for each series of blanks. Each dash corresponds to a letter of the word.

The country pace is _ _ _ _ , the mood just right.

Contralto calls by _ _ _ _ now fill the night.

A heifer _ _ _ _ while bedded in her stall

In eloquent acknowledgment of fall.

Answer to October 23, 2011 puzzle:

Till next Sunday.

Norm, The Red Q
